UPDATE - 6

Greetings from Congo,

Wednesday, February 08, 2006

Yesterday was a big day.  Carol had a wonderful meeting with representatives for Family Health International, a US non-profit and Andy Williams arrived safely and on time.

Carolfs meeting was a time of confirmation and affirmation for her concerning the things she feels God has given her for House of Joy.  I wonft attempt to try and articulate them all because I could never do them justice so wefll leave them for her to tell.  Perhaps she will send copies of some of her correspondence to be distributed at FOC.

Andy gave us the valentine cards which the children at FOC made for us.  They are super and we appreciate them so much.  Please be sure our thanks are passed on the them.

This afternoon Andy and Nick went with Papa to see the city and run some errands.  We went to Songololo first so Andy could see the effort of the past six years.  We stopped at Oshwe (the Chrisco Hospital building) on our way home from the airport last night.  Papa stayed at Songololo to meet with a long line of people waiting to see him while Papa Pinzi and George, the driver, took Nick and Andy to town.  Nick needed to get a pair of jeans and they purchased a mattress.  This took about three hours with much haggling and looking in shop after shop for the right item at the right price.  The jeans were much too long so we then went to a small tailor shop and watched the alteration.  While we were there, Nick had them measure him for a safari suit, which will be made after we purchase fabric.  But that will be for another day.

Carol and Papa art traveling to Kenya soon to bring High Faith back to Congo.  While they are gone Nick Diane and Andy will be escorted by Papa Chota.  As we mentioned in the last update, on Saturday Nick and Andy will be taking a full dayfs trip to visit two pieces of land belonging to Chrisco church.  Our guide for this trip is Sister Mfdombe who is an agricultural specialist with the UN.  Wefll write more after we return from this outing.

Many Blessings

Nick, Diane, Carol and Andy
